iLLmont Interview

iLLmont are a collective of rappers and producers hailing from Atlanta Georgia. ATL is a real hotbed of hot, independent hip hop and we at Rawroots.com are all about showcasing talented indie acts. Their latest project “BRUH The LP” received a lot of attention from the blog world. It’s dope. Shouts out to Blue Raccoon Radio for putting us on.

Firstly, thank you for agreeing to be interviewed by Rawroots.com. Secondly – what’s in the name – iLLmont?
iLLmont: To me, we are a collective of versed musicians who appreciate what we do. It’s a relation off the street where all shared a home on. Good times and bad times have come from there, but it has made us all stronger.

Who are you all and what makes you work so well as a unit?

iLLmont: We are Felix Von Soco, Olde English, Nihilus, Khalil Who, EyeBeiLLin, L7one, Allen Thomas, Plex Major, Aaron, and Paul. I think it’s because we’re all such good friends, like prior to music and we all vibe.

Who are your musical influences?

iLLmont: From every region to every genre. Our taste are not limited and it will soon show and progress with our sound.

Tell us a bit about your BRUH LP… What was the inspiration behind this project?

iLLmont: Pretty much just a bunch of friends trying to make amazing music.

iLLmont: The response was great! A lot more than our first effort with Green Slurpee but definitely a good reception.
